Grou is a branding agency. The company believes that relevant brands are built by a clear purpose, a strong identity, memorable experiences and a lot of consistency. Their products are designed to help their clients in four pillars: business, communication, experience and culture.

The word Grou means ‘Crane’ in portuguese and Cranes are the birds represented on the traditional japanese origami, which symbolizes luck, fortune and happiness. Cranes are also birds that groups or associates with other individuals to work toward a common goal, just like the agency does. With this background in mind, I’ve developed an icon that felt unique and shied away from the traditional origami representation, which was never the goal. The letter g sets up the base for the main shape and from there on, variations of the logo/birds-species come up.
